Tax & compliance
The tax bill stops at our desk.
As the merchant of record we calculate, collect, file, and remit VAT, GST, and sales tax in every market you reach. You get one settlement and audit-ready records, not a stack of registrations to manage.

Why delegate it
Cross-border tax is a liability, not a feature.
Doing it yourself means a registration, a return, and an audit risk in every market. Handing it over removes all three.
Registration and the tax bill
Registered as merchant of record in each jurisdiction. Calculation, filing, and remittance.
You never submit a return or hold a foreign registration.
Rate, rule, and exemptions
Location, product category, and VAT IDs resolved live at checkout, with reverse charge where it belongs.
Right rate at the sale, totals shown in local convention.
Audit trail and thresholds
A full tax breakdown on every order, jurisdiction summaries on demand, registration thresholds watched.
Audit-ready by default, with no quarter-end scramble.
Invoicing
Compliant invoices, issued in our name.
Because we are the seller of record, the invoice the buyer receives is a valid local tax document, with no work from your finance team.
- Locally compliant invoices and credit notes per market
- Buyer language, currency, and tax format applied automatically
- Business buyers get a VAT-compliant invoice with their ID
- Every document reconciled back to the settlement
“We retired a tax engine and two registration spreadsheets the week we moved. Quarter-end stopped being a fire drill.”
Questions, answered.
Who is liable if a filing is wrong?
Nordgate. As the merchant of record we are the registered taxpayer in each jurisdiction, so the liability for calculation, filing, and remittance is ours, not yours.
How is the right tax rate applied at checkout?
We resolve the buyer's location, product tax category, and any exemption or reverse-charge rule at the moment of sale, then show a tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive total per local convention.
Do you handle B2B exemptions and VAT IDs?
Yes. Valid business VAT IDs are validated in real time and the reverse-charge mechanism is applied where it belongs. Exemption certificates are captured and stored against the order.
Will I get records for my own audit?
Every order carries a tax breakdown, and you can export jurisdiction-level summaries on demand. The detail your finance team and auditors ask for is already there.
What if I sell into a market I have not registered in?
You do not register. We monitor thresholds and maintain the registrations, so a new market is a setting you switch on, not a compliance project.
